Leontine van Hooft, CEO GreenDreamCompany and recently awarded with the title Entrepreneural Women of the Year 2011 Bommelerwaard, attaches particular importance to 'sustainability'. Together with her partner she has set up GreenDreamCompany where Corporate Social Responsibility is of top priority. Within this framework Leontine has developed Together-4-Better Expedition to strengthen the tourism sector in emerging markets, like Ethiopia and South Africa. Dutch experts are invited to share their knowledge with African experts; a win-win situation arises. For Dutch organisations Together-4-Better Expedition is an investment in their employees’ development. It offers the possibility to make a concrete contribution to a sustainable society. Several Dutch organizations have already shown interest in Together-4-Better Expedition. They are supportive; however, more companies are needed to come to a structural approach.

Together-4-Better Expedition is an innovative and challenging way of talent and competence development, career guidance and supportive of processes of change. It fits perfectly within the CSR program of an organisation. For companies Together-4-Better Expedition can be an investment in their employee development, on the other hand making a sustainable, concrete contribution to society. During previous expeditions, communication advisors, coaches, teachers and architects have cooperated. By cooperation and knowledge sharing Dutch and African professionals assist each other by providing the much needed knowledge and skills. On top of that, throughout this expedition professionals work on their personal goals, which have been set prior to this expedition. An experienced coach will be available on demand. Full with energy, fresh ideas and a new network the participants have returned from inspiring expeditions.

Organisations in the province Brabant realise the importance of CSR which became clear when Leontine talked to several companies in the area; all were very interested to join the programme. The value of CSR is of great importance for them and Together-4-Better Expedition ‘fits the picture’. It is easy applicable because it is so flexible to implement for many intentions, from career development up to processes of change.

 

For a structural approach more companies need to be addressed, therefore GreenDreamCompany launches ‘The Brabants’ initiative’.
