Improving infrastructure in 13 National Parks

GreenDreamCompany in alliance with MetaMeta Ethiopia and HOAREC (Horn of Africa Regional Environmental Centre) triumphantly participated in a tender to study on improving infrastructure in the 13 National Parks of the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority (EWCA). Although GreenDreamCompany faced hard competition, ultimately we have won the tender.

 

After 2, 5 years of operation and the reintegration of nine protected areas formerly under regional authorities, GTZ IS Ethiopia founded that it was time to analyze the infrastructural setup of the EWCA and its parks. The aim of the study is to give the authorities an insight into what the current state of infrastructures and parks of the EWCA are and how a room for improvement on each of them can be formulated. With the outcome of this study GTZ IS Ethiopia can determine which of the existing infrastructure still meets the requirements and what additional infrastructure is needed. Vital elements of this project are the environmental sustainability within a timeframe of 5, 10 and 15 years and the architectural design and cost breakdowns.

 

The alliance, led by GreenDreamCompany, is a team of experienced experts skilled in environmental planning and building, including environmental impact assessment tools. They have a good understanding of Ethiopia’s PA system and its functions and have knowledge of similar studies carried out in similar situations, particularly in Africa. The maintenance and conservation of the Ethiopian infrastructure and its parks are essential in addressing the booming tourism market. As a major player in the booming Ethiopian tourism sector, GreenDreamCompany and its alliance, them the most likeable candidates for the tender.
