According to GreenDreamFoundation, education and employment are ways to alleviate poverty. Applying a business approach will lead to more sustainability and self-sufficiency.
Business initiatives will be more successful in a healthy environment. Therefore GreenDreamFoundation not only focuses upon the economic aspect but also on the social and ecological aspects within a project. This refers to the "triptych" of sustainability. Initiatives of local people in the areas of education, health and entrepreneurship will be supported with knowledge, coaching and financial means. Projects supported by the foundation must be initiated by local people themselves while related to business projects that fit in the surroundings of own projects of GreenDreamCompany. This way of community building leads to empowerment of local communities. GreenDreamFoundation highly values development and aspects of gender equality.
GreenDreamFoundation distinguishes two ways of support:
- stimulating entrepreneurship;
- supporting local initiatives to improve their livelihoods.

Initiatives
GreenDreamFoundation has set up several projects. Below a short overview of some of the initiatives in Ethiopia is presented.
